Conditions of Entry & Hotel Policy
Guest Conduct & Behaviour
Melbourne Place strives to provide all guests with a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience. As such, any illegal, disorderly, or offensive behaviour is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to aggression, verbal or physical threats toward staff or other guests, excessive noise, or any conduct that may disturb the comfort, enjoyment, or safety of others. Melbourne Place management reserves the right to assess and take action at their discretion in cases of inappropriate, harmful, or disruptive behaviour. This may include requesting the guest and/or party to vacate the premises immediately. In such cases, no refunds or compensation will be provided, and Melbourne Place also reserves the right to refuse future bookings from the offending guest(s) and/or their party.
Smoking Policy
Smoking, including the use of electronic cigarettes, is strictly prohibited throughout Melbourne Place. Guests who violate this policy will be subject to a cleaning fee of $400 for standard rooms and $1,500 for suites. Additionally, any emergency services fees resulting from this violation will be charged to the guest. Our staff is happy to assist you in locating designated smoking areas outside of the hotel.
Check-in and Security Deposit
Guests wishing to check into Melbourne Place must be at least 18 years old and listed on the reservation made during the booking process. At check-in, a valid photo ID must be presented to confirm the guest’s identity. Acceptable forms of identification will be determined at the discretion of Melbourne Place management. Upon arrival, a security deposit of $100 per night will be required to cover incidental expenses. Full payment for the reservation must also be made at check-in if the booking has not been pre-paid in advance.
Check-in Requirements
All guests who wish to register and check into the hotel must be at least 18 years old and listed on the reservation made during the booking process. During check-in, guests must present a valid photo ID to confirm their identity, and Melbourne Place management will determine acceptable forms of identification. Upon arrival, the hotel requires a security deposit of $100 per night to cover incidental expenses. Full authorisation of accommodation is also required for any reservation that has not been pre-paid. For guests wishing to pay with cash or EFTPOS, pre-payment for the accommodation is required upon arrival, along with a refundable $200 per night deposit, which will be held as a cash/EFTPOS deposit. Please note that rooms with a cash/EFTPOS deposit will have limited access to charging items back to the room throughout the hotel. Please note that guests are responsible for all charges incurred by anyone staying in the room, regardless of whether they are registered guests or visitors. Furthermore, guests will be held liable for any damages caused to the room or hotel facilities during their stay. Any outstanding balances upon departure will be charged to the credit or debit card provided at check-in.

Additionally, guests will be held liable for any damage caused to hotel property, including rooms and facilities, during their stay. Melbourne Place reserves the right to charge any outstanding balances, including damages or additional cleaning fees, to the credit or debit card provided at check-in.
